Roy Van Tassell, MS, LPC-S, is Director of Trauma & Evidence-Based Interventions for Centene -the parent company of Oklahoma Complete Health. A Licensed Professional Counselor, and approved LCP supervisor. He trains nationally in trauma and evidenced-based interventions. His 40 + year clinical career spans diverse settings and populations, focusing for more than 20 years on child trauma and youth in care.
A member of SAMHSA’s National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) since 2002, he co-chairs the NCTSN subcommittee for children with Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB). He is an approved national trainer for 3 evidence-supported models: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for child trauma –including TF-CBT for youth with PSB; Components for Enhancing Clinician Experience and Reducing Trauma (CE-CERT), for secondary trauma; and (CARE) Child Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE). He has been part of the OK Dept. of Mental Health and University of Oklahoma’s statewide TF-CBT training partnership since 2005 and co-authored a chapter on Mitigating Secondary Trauma in: A Compendium of Policy and Practice for the Child Welfare League of America in 2021, and an article: An Overview of the Special Issue: Maze, Van Tassell, Marsh, Fransein; Juvenile & Family Court Journal. 2008. He lives in Tulsa.
