Mandi Fowler, PhD, LICSW, PIP, is a Program Director at the University of Alabama, Youth Services Institute. Her work is focused on providing evidence-based intervention for children and youth involved in Alabama’s child welfare and juvenile justice systems, including program evaluation. She is currently the PI of a project funded through OJJDP award #2020-MC-FX-K025. She is also a Co-PI on the Alabama Department of Youth Services’ program evaluation and validation project funded by DYS (#27246-224107-601380-300). In addition, Dr. Fowler directs a community-based treatment program for youth across the State of Alabama funded by DYS for over twenty years. During her more than 15 years at YSI, Dr. Fowler has collaborated with DYS to complete a variety of projects, including the development and implementation of a residential program for girls with high needs, training needs evaluations, and evaluation projects of contract programs serving youth in DYS custody. Dr. Fowler is a trainer in Problematic Sexual Behavior-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-School age (PSB-CBT-S), an evidenced based model of intervention for children with problematic sexual behavior. She is also a certified provider of Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
