Julie Ozier, LCSW, has more than 20 years’ experience working with children and families who've experienced abuse or trauma, in the child welfare system and victim service organizations. She is a Child Therapist and oversees the Forensic Interviewing services at The Carousel Center, an accredited Child Advocacy Center in NC. She has forensically interviewed more than 1,000 children and also provides evidence-based trauma treatment to children. Ms. Ozier has been recognized as an expert in child abuse, sexual abuse, trauma, and forensic interviewing and testified in numerous criminal cases. She has specialized training in evidence-based models, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB) -CBT. She co-leads the PSB treatment program at Carouse Center, providing both group and individual/family treatment for both Preschool and School-Aged children. She has provided training, consultation and supervision to numerous organizations and clinicians. She enjoys collaborating with other professionals to support children and families impacted by violence, trauma, or other stressors. Ms. Ozier is also the owner and handler for Rudy, the Center's Therapy Dog.
